Fans find a decades old stash of LSD hidden by John Lennon. Turns out Lennon “buried a large quantity of the drug in his garden in 1967 when The Beatles declared they had given up drugs in favor of transcendental meditation.”

It likely sounded like a good plan at the time. Unfortunately, making it a bit worse for John, (or better, depending on one’s point of view) a bit after he buried the drugs to swear off his acid induced haze in favor of enlightenment through mediation - he changed his mind. John wanted the drugs back, so off he went to dig. However, his search was fruitless as he couldn’t remember where to look to find where he had stashed the drugs after his hasty dig. In other words, the drugs were never found by Lennon and he left empty-handed.

The drugs still had to be in the ground somewhere at the home. According to The Sun, “builders digging up the lawn of his old house, Kenwood, (and) came across the remains of a leather holdall containing several large broken glass bottles.”

Are they really John’s old stash? Beatles fans are now convinced that the bottles found in the satchel contained the missing LSD.
